I want to go to Wanaka!

Newton Running has just signed on to be a sponsor of the Challenge Wanaka, an iron distance triathlon in Lake Wanaka on the South Island of New Zealand.

Challenge Wanaka bills itself as “The World’s Most Scenic Long Distance Triathlon.” That’s a bold statement to be sure, but after checking the race website and the Lake Wanaka tourism bureau site, Sir Isaac thinks maybe he should travel to NZ to see for himself, especially as a new winter storm bears down on chilly Colorado.

Newton athletes Chris McDonald and Hilary Biscay both placed second in this race last year. I haven’t heard if they’re returning to the race this year, but if so, I’m putting my money on another double Newton victory at the Challenge Wanaka!
